Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God—
Paul is thought of as one of the most eloquent writers in the bible. His words have affected people well after his death. His incredible touch on humanity is considered as one of the greatest, ever! Saying that Paul was a superhero Christian is putting it lightly! So many times I have looked for pity for the circumstantial events that have taken place during my Christian walk…..maybe even blaming them on the relationship I have with Christ. The “this never would have happened if i wasn’t a Christian” mentality would kick in. Then I started reading about Paul’s life and learned to quickly recant my pity party. Paul was accused, disrespected, rejected, tormented, and thrown into jail in about every town he traveled to, yet he faithfully and joyfully continued to serve God. Paul just didn’t serve…..Paul lived life as a servant, happy to be in that position! Even though Paul was ridiculed and treated like trash while living a life for Christ he knew that his happiness was with Christ. He made a decision after getting knocked off his donkey to live a life that coincided with his new-found beliefs. Nothing or no one would keep him from serving by sharing the love of Christ with others.
Paul’s life can be summed up in one sentence. He was called to be an APOSTLE and SET APART for the gospel. The definition of an apostle is someone who is a vigorous and pioneering advocate or supporter of a particular policy, idea, or cause. Paul took this definition to a holy notha level because he believed that his life was set apart for a reason.
Could your life have reason? Could you impact people the way Paul did? The answer for everyone is, YES! Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. A future filled with happiness is waiting. Make the choice……..Paul went from a Christian killer to a Christian thriller in one day. The only thing you need for your life to change direction on a dime is Christ!
Christ is the reason that my life has reason!
