Acts 13:26 “Fellow children of Abraham and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent.”
Fear, heartache, patience, ridiculement, are just a few words that come to my mind after reading that verse. It is so easy to overlook a verse like this, a verse that requires you to take your game to another level, to take the next step, to put your big boy pants on and start to do work. Big Black’s saying, “Do work” is easy to say but much harder to put into play especially when you are dealing with eternity. Although Big Black probably didn’t come up with his saying while sitting around reading Luke’s account of Paul’s life (I would have a whole new respect for that large man who is full of life if it did) it matches perfectly.
In all reality it is time for Christians to step up and “do work!” Why? Because this life is temporal and our jobs are eternal. I have a fresh desire to “do work” and to reach more people for God than I could ever imagine. I never enjoyed sitting on the bench, riding the pine pony express. I have always been the kid that wanted to be in the mix of things……making magic happen Trying to make magic happen. The first step to making things happen and doing work is understanding who is guiding you. When you want to “do work” you have to put yourself in the appropriate submission to ensure you are doing what you boss wants. This same concept works for Christianity and Paul said it best, “God-fearing.” When we have the appropriate fear of God in our lives we can’t help but to put our big boy pants on and “do work.”
Remember the work you do is eternal!
