Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Cor. 13:7 NIV)
This is by far one of my favorite passages in the bible. The word love has taken on so many different meanings over time and gets thrown around and used so much that it loses it’s meaning. Love is a serious word and when we use it we should take it seriously. I am not talking about how we say we “love” cheeseburgers, or I “love” Alabama football…those are just sayings. I am talking about love for people and those around us. If we focus on loving people the way God loves us, the patience, the kindness, and all the other traits of love will find their way out. Today my challenge to you is to love…love your spouse, your kids, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbors, and most of all your enemies and see what a difference it will make in your life and and all your relationships.
