As I type this there are people being helped just down the hall from my office. Yesterday our church did a final push for a toy drive to help out families in our area who need a little assistance providing their kids with Christmas gifts. I am not blogging about this to brag or boast about our missional foundation as a church. I am blogging about this because so many people have helped make it possible and I am honored to pastor such people. From toy purchasers that started last year to promoters, the band who played the benefit concert, and of course every person and child who donated toys or money. Thank you so much to everyone who is making a difference this Christmas season!
It is a huge honor to pastor a church who puts into action the word of God (Acts 20:35).
My challenge for you is to keep giving at the center of your Christmas season. Why?
- It is a great opportunity to teach your kids the importance of giving.
- It reflects the actions of God. (He gave his son)
- To put it simply…..it’s your responsibility if your part of a church to help those in need (James 2:14-16).
Focus on the reason you celebrate Christmas and the solution it brings to your life!
